Martin Nazareth — President, OpEx Solutions, Inc.



Martin Nazareth is the founder and president of OpEx Solutions, Inc. (OSI) — an organization with two divisions, Global OpEx Solutions and the CenTex OpEx Consortium, helping organizations find and define their own way to operational excellence. Since its inception, OSI has successfully assisted clients from Fortune 100 companies to startups in their pursuit of operational excellence through strategy, simplicity and execution.

Prior to OpEx Solutions, he was a senior manager for Lean and TPM deployment at Alcoa. He led program quality for all North American programs at Delphi Thermal & Interior. Before Delphi, he consulted through EDS, Tata Consulting Services, and independently. Nazareth successfully led change through four corporate- and division-wide initiatives including Lean, TPM, FMEA/PCP and error-proofing at two Fortune 100 companies.


Nazareth is a global expert in operational excellence involving the strategic application of lean manufacturing (Lean), total productive maintenance (TPM), quality, and industrial engineering (IE). He has led strategic coaching, consulting, training and execution at over 100 plants in the USA, Canada, Australia, India, Latin America and Europe. His background spans several industries, including automotive, metals and mining, oil and gas, ship building, electrical systems, information systems, and healthcare.

He has two masters’ degrees in industrial engineering and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Martin Nazareth served on the board of AME’s Southwest Region and is a Director of the Institute of Industrial Engineering’s (IIE) Lean Division and Industry Advisory Board. With over thirty years of professional experience, Nazareth is well recognized for his passion for excellence and strategic execution, flawless new product launches, successful implementation of initiatives and achieving bottom-line results.


Ken McClymonds, P.E. — Principal Consultant


Ken McClymonds P.E., Principal Consultant  OpEx Solutions, A registered Professional Industrial Engineer and Six Sigma Master Black Belt with over 40 years of professional experience and 19 years at VP level, leading process improvement systems resulting in significant and sustainable bottom line results.

Ken is a Senior Member of IIE, and a Director of the Institute for High Performance Planning.

Ken has a BSIE, an MBA, and is a Registered Professional Engineer. and Lean and Six Sigma Master Black Belt.



Rex Draman, PhD. — TOC Expert & Coach



Rex Draman spent more than fifteen years working in operations management, holding both line and staff positions in a variety of industries before earning his Ph. D. in Operations and Strategic Management from the University of Georgia in 1995.

Given his in-depth understanding of real-world issues and problems facing today’s managers, Rex has focused his research and relationships with organizations developing a deeper understanding of the interdependence between operations (value-adding activities) and the other business functions. While these efforts were initially focused on the practices within the ‘theory of constraints’ (TOC) they have continued to expand to include a wide spectrum of systems-based tools and processes.

Over the last fifteen years, in addition to being an academic, Rex and his associates have successfully worked with a number of organizations, ranging from a small cabinet shop

all the way to international chemical companies, which have sought to embrace a more systems-based approach to their operations and business processes. In his role as an academic, Rex has held faculty positions in Operations Management at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, St. Edward’s University, and the University of Texas at Brownsville. He also served as Chair of the Operations concentration in St. Edward’s MBA program.

Rex Draman has published in the “Production Inventory Management Journal”, “Human Systems Management Journal”, “Quality Management Journal”, “Industrial Management”, “International Journal of Production Research”, “Nano-express” and “TOC Quarterly”. Rex has presented his research at a variety of national and international conferences.


Warren Gary Johnson, Jr., P.E. — Principal Consultant



Gary Johnson is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional. Some of his main areas of expertise are maximizing asset utilization, reliability, asset tracking, cost reduction and planning and scheduling. He developed a system for real-time asset utilization monitoring for Alcoa where he served Alcoa for 34 years in various capacities: Plant Engineer, Division Engineer, and Corporate Recruiter and Trainer.

Gary has a BSME from The University of Texas at Austin and is a Registered Professional Engineer. He has won numerous safety and innovation awards including the MSHA Holmes National Safety Award for Most Safe Surface Mine in the U.S.


Rich Deegan — Principal Consultant




Rich Deegan has over 25 years’ process industry experience leading and improving global supply chains including specialty chemicals, fluoropolymer resins, coatings, and films meeting stringent pharmaceutical, food, semiconductor, and Tier I & II auto industry standards.
He began his career as an engineer in the chemical industry, serving in several manufacturing production and maintenance plant leadership roles. He expanded his knowledge of end-to-end supply chain operations through diverse assignments including sales, marketing, product management, supply chain management, finance, and as an internal consultant.

Rich led the Lean Six Sigma practice within DuPont’s Supply Chain Center of Excellence translating supply strategy into actions to improve competitive supply, landed cost, flow of materials, cash, and capacity.

Rich is active in APICS, the international supply chain organization. He is a qualified APICS instructor and maintains the following certifications: APICS Production & Inventory Management, APICS Supply Chain Professional, & Supply Chain Council SCOR Professional.

Rich is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.



J. Bennett Foster, P.S., CAP — Principal Consultant


J. Bennett Foster is a Certified Analytics Professional (INFORMS) and Industrial Engineer with over 40 years of experience across multiple industries.

APICS has certified him as a supply chain professional (CSCP and CPIM). He has significantly improved system design on new manufacturing and material handling systems costing billions of dollars. He developed production planning techniques that are widely used in DuPont and credited with saving millions of dollars.

He has also taught graduate courses in simulation and operations research courses at major universities.

Bennett is a Senior member of ISE and past president of ISE’s Process Industries Division.


John P. Gay  Principal Consultant


John P. Gay has been Supervising Master Black Belt and Global Best Practices Leader for Focused Improvement for DuPont, delivering over $1M per person every year in hard, validated savings in addition to $2M + in soft savings until his retirement. He also served Technical Superintendent for the LaPorte, Texas Dupont plant, ensuring compliance with new environmental permit standards including effluent water quality and delivering permit requirements on time and on budget.
John has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). 
John is an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional and a SCORE (Supply Chain Council) Professional.

Rudy Villarreal — Senior Consultant



Rudy Villarreal is a Senior Consultant at OpEx Solutions, Inc. (OSI). 

He has extensive experience in health management. His area of expertise is contract management specifically the management of Medicaid and CHIP health maintenance organization contracts. Villarreal was considered subject matter expert for managed care. He developed processes, designed and developed training material and provided training for hundreds of health & human services employees.

Rudy’s experience also includes identifying, recommending, and coordinating the implementation of process improvement and developing and implementing training programs. He centralized the complaints tracking, analyzing and corrective action system for the State of Texas’ Managed Care. He was also instrumental in retaining and improving enrollments in managed care programs.

He has bachelors and masters’ degrees in Political Science and Theology. Villarreal is also certified for online facilitation of training and workshops.


Ganesh Pai — OpEx Associate — Program Management Expert




Ganesh Pai is an expert and qualified professional practicing operational excellence in strategy consulting, product development, software project management, and industrial engineering. His experience spans diverse domains such as manufacturing, higher technical education, research and government, as well as online reservations of air, car and hotel, online sales transactions and online payment solutions. He has worked with global teams spread across the United States, Australia, India, Latin America, Singapore and Europe.

He is currently consulting with the Global Operations Division of PayPal, a leading online payment solutions provider. Prior to PayPal, he has provided his expert services to leading online players such as Expedia, Travelocity, Sabre Decision Technologies, and Mary Kay Inc. At Mercury Marines, the world’s leading manufacturer of engines for speed boats, he developed heuristic solutions integrating delivery route optimization with traditional inventory management concepts to minimize the total annual logistics cost, a term that he introduced.

In addition, Ganesh has also developed graduate level curriculum for Advanced Manufacturing Management as well as for Integrating Manufacturing Enterprise Decisions. He has served as a faculty member at the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India; and at Oklahoma State University —teaching both undergraduate and graduate levels. He has served as an expert observer and examiner at many universities in India.

Ganesh Pai has two masters degrees in industrial engineering and a bachelors in mechanical engineering. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Ganesh has been a paper reviewer for the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) conferences. He has also presented a paper on CIM Enterprise Modeling Methodologies. With strong professional experience, he is well recognized for developing people through mentorship, new product and processes developed and structured for operational excellence.


Vivian Sullivan Program Manager


Vivian Sullivan is an experienced strategic and tactical marketing and operations professional known for her work in both domestic and international markets. Recognized for embracing and quickly understanding rapidly evolving markets and technologies, she is able to listen to customers' input and aid them in assessing their needs and finding effective training solutions.

She has experience in the petroleum and high-tech industries, nonprofits, law enforcement, and small business.

Vivian Sullivan has a bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico, has done postgraduate work in Business Administration at the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, and has master's degree from The University of Texas at Austin.


Jesús (Jesse) Valdez Senior Consultant



Jesús Valdez has over 38 years of experience in the chemical industry and manufacturing sites. For the last 7+ years, he has been responsible for the implementation and sustainability of the DuPont Production System (DPS) at DuPont’s manufacturing sites across many business segments. DPS is a focused continuous improvement process that incorporates Lean Six Sigma, Industry Best Practices, and Change Management using systems thinking approach.

He has also held various other roles throughout his DuPont career with a focus on operations and technology management, mechanical engineering, maintenance reliability, process safety management, capital improvement project management, and developing others.

Jesús has served as an Adjunct Instructor for University of Houston at Victoria teaching an undergraduate business statistics course for business majors.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and Master of Business Administration from University of Houston at Victoria. Jesús Valdez is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
